I was very anxious to read this book. Such a promising storyline. However I found the book wordy, the main character a whimp who could not stand up for herself. Both men selfish and self centered and expecting her to cater to them.
Trite. Teen soap opera
Too predictable and don't like the soft porn.
Good read
Julia London wrote a very well-developed story with characters you can empathize with and want to see all end up happy in this book. It was a well paced story that left me reading almost nonstop until I finished.
What would you do Your husband is in the military in a war zone. You have been told by Officials that he died. The military gives you the death benefits. Two years later you meet a nice man, through your father. Eventually you marry him. Seven months later, you are again visited by Officials who tell you that they were mistaken and husband #1 is not dead, but had been held captive and had finally escaped.

That is when all the peace in you life dissolves and chaos and stress reign.

This a very good story and deals with a lot of different things that military wives and families have to deal with. Even if the soldier does his stint and comes home, there are usually emotional things that have to be dealt with, like PTSD.

I most definitely suggest reading this book.
I had been looking for a book with this premise for awhile and when I found Summer of Two Wishes I was excited to start reading it. After a couple chapters I knew that this was not really the type of book I was looking for at all. The narration was all over the place and I feel like we never really got the chance to know any of the characters. I was told that Macy and Finn had this great romance, but I never saw any real connection between them, or her and Wyatt. The characters lacked depth and the heroine was unsympathetic. I mostly found myself rooting for both guys to dump her and find someone more worthy.
What was most frustrating for me was that everyone made Macy out to be some evil woman just for moving on with her life and remarrying. She beleived her husband was dead and mourned him for years before she remarried. Why were all these people acting like she cheated on her husband? The tone of the novel just bothered me I geuss.
Overall I did finish the book, but it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.
