This is a great book, especially for a new author. As with any good mystery, the story line has a lot of twists, mostly guided by a cast of very well-developed characters and interesting back stories that are masterfully woven together, especially as the book is tied up near the end. Even if you think you have figured out who committed the main crime before the book’s end, there are so many more details that I was not able to put together myself, so it made the book even more satisfying when I finished. Besides the characters and story line itself, I love the author’s voice, with his subtle sense of humor in unexpected places and vivid descriptions of people and places. I look forward to more!

Guilt is a well-structured thriller with enough to keep you guessing at the who and the why. I did figure out who must "have done it,” but it took the author confirming it before I was completely convinced. The characters are interesting, some you love to hate, and others you hate to love. It was a quick, fun read, yet David Taylor Black’s intelligent, subtle style makes it more than that. This is a very good debut novel I thoroughly enjoyed, and I highly recommend it. Bring on book two!
Not ready to step into fall yet? Make a date with Dan Harris in Hope Town and prolong your vacation in the Bahamas. "Guilt" will take you there and, if you know Hope Town, you may recognize some of the locations and even the businesses that are found there. I enjoyed the thrilling mystery and it is sure to keep you turning pages and scratching your head as you try to figure out the outcome. As you read, you will also get to know Dan who will share some of his hopes and heartaches with you. The story is rich and multi-faceted and gives you much to think about. I hope there will soon be an opportunity to read book 2 of the "Guilt" series.
Guilt is a great read! plenty of plot twists kept me interested and loved the depth of characters, can't wait for the next one??!!

A good mystery with lots of details. I feel like I've been to Hope Town, and I know those streets. But I found it hard to root for the main character at times, because of decisions he made.
I loved Guilt! I was invested in the characters from the first few pages.. they were likeable, interesting and endearing. Each page came with a twist and turn the reader wasn't expecting - making it hard to put the book down, and just as anxious to pick it back up again!

We know there is more to come in the series - so I'm excited to find out how the story continues in Guilt 2!
This book really drew me in. I couldn't put it down. The author has a way of pulling you in so you almost feel you're there. A lot of twists and turns and a true emotional investment in some of these characters. I can't wait till the next book drops.
